Tintern evening meal suggestions

Royal George Hotel - A popular choice in the heart of Tintern is the Wild Hare at the Royal George Hotel A 10 min walk from the Old Rectory, the Royal George is recently taken over by a young couple, who have transformed it into a stylish venue, for a nice evening out. They have also provided a 10% discount card for Old Rectory Guests.

Parva Farmhouse - If you want a truly special, Michelin star quality dining experience with lovely food crafted by an acclaimed chef, the Parva Farmhouse Restaurant has high quality, imaginative 2, 3 or 4 course dining options available.

The Fountain Inn - Another big favourite is the Fountain Inn, a quaint and cosy 17th century country inn, a five minute drive (1.8 mi) just out of Tintern. Run by a friendly local couple, Steve and Jill ~ Jill is an excellent cook! The food and ambience is warm, relaxed and very friendly, full of locals, with wood fire seating to enjoy.

The Wye Valley Hotel - Then, just a 2 min walk away is the Wye Valley Hotel, which has a nice pub, a good and varied homemade menu, and is always a good standby if you want something just right there, with relaxed, good local food.

The Anchor Inn - A Classic Inn, right beside Tintern Abbey, with a great lawn, lots of outdoor seating, and fabulous views of the Abbey. The Anchor is a upscale quality pub-chain, also with good cappuccino.

The Rose and Crown - A typical village English Pub, with good basic pub food, steak platters, woodfires, pool table and games.
